Lim Lai Cheng
loves traveling, reading, making new friends and exploring new worlds.
She currently leads a dual life exploring the impact of virtual worlds
and avatars on teaching and learning in the real world. In her past
life, she has been teacher, administrator and principal in institutions
as diverse as
National Junior College,
Deyi Secondary,
Commonwealth
Secondary and
Temasek Junior College. She has also had the opportunity
to shape, define, implement and explain policies in her nine years with
the
Ministry of Education in Curriculum Planning and Public Affairs.
She is pursuing a part-time Doctor in Education programme, attempting
to design pedagogy and curriculum appropriate for inhabitants of the
web 2.0 world. She has over 500 friends on Friendster, is just starting
to build up her profile on Facebook and is a resident of Second Life.
She was presented with the Leader Mentor Award in 2004 at the 2nd
Global Leadership & Mentoring Congress organized by Research
Communication International. She heads
Raffles Institution from 15 Dec 2008.
